History

The Plant study group has been meeting on a regular basis for over 32 years, the first meeting was held in May 1972 at the home of EDAS member Jack Morris, other attendees were Neil Armstrong, Neil Murray, Arthur McHarry and John Washbourne. During this period EDAS had 3 other sub-groups:- a breeders group, a native fish group and a beginners group. The Plant Study group is the only group still meeting.

In the mid to late 70's the group worked with Helen Aston from the Melbourne Herbarium to catalogue several species of Cryptocorynes.
